Rob Yung, is a twenty year old Long Island, New York native. He had moved to Brazil at the age of three, to be with the rest of his family. At the age of seven, he moved back to Long Island, New York, where he seen many tragedies when he least expected them. His passion for music started with music from his Brazilian heritage; it didn’t take long for him to broaden his choice in music. By the age of nine, Rob Yung was listening to hip-hop. His older cousin Rodrigo put him onto hip-hop and encouraged him to keep listening to it. The first few artists he ever listened to were, DMX, Nas, Eminem, Rakim, and KRS-ONE.
After many years of listening to hip-hop, Rob Yung started rapping, with his friends. Every day after school he would go home and write a sixteen. In a matter of time he got better and better and finally started battling people during lunch hour. Being successful in battling and knowing in his mind that he had what it took to get to the next level, Rob Yung, started writing behind closed doors; then secretly started entering freestyle contests. By the age of twelve Rob Yung decided to take rapping seriously. He surprised audiences with his complex and dynamic stage presence, very early in his career. Rob Yung’s rapping skills resulted in numerous rap battle wins. He has also put his writing skills to use for others, but to remain professional he does not speak on who he has written for. Rob Yung has since, released an instrument mixtape with Ross Munroe, titled ‘Sample Of My Life’, an EP titled ‘Daily Basis: The Weekly Agenda’, and a mixtape along his group The Soulstice titled ‘MF Wonders.’
